You asked a reasonable question — why is that gap different, why does this door sit proud — and got a defensive answer. Or no answer. You stopped asking because it wasn't worth the atmosphere.

There was no way to know, from the quote, whether the person you hired had ever worked in a proper workshop — or whether they'd learned everything they know from YouTube and build in their customers' gardens. By the time you found out, the job was done.

You ended up with a snagging list. You chased it. Some of it got fixed. You spent serious money and came away feeling like the problem was expecting too much.

If you need a 437mm door, we make a 437mm door. Not a 400mm door with a filler. The gap between every door is equal because the method demands it — not because we got lucky.

Equal gaps. Zero defect finish. No snagging list. These aren't targets we aim for — they're the result of a process so dialled in that deviation isn't possible. The surprise customers feel at the quality is a marketing failure on our part. You should know what level you're getting before you book, not after we leave.

Every piece is manufactured in a proper workshop, to drawing, with the right equipment. Not assembled on site from whatever fits. The difference shows in the result — and in the finish that's still right five years later.

By the time a job starts, you've already been through a call, a site visit, and a detailed video walkthrough of every decision. There are no surprises because there's no ambiguity left. You're not trusting a badge. You're trusting a specific, documented plan you've already approved.

Master Bedroom Wardrobe

Floor-to-ceiling wardrobe across a chimney breast alcove. The structural wall meant neither side was parallel to the other. Everything was manufactured to the actual measurements — not approximated, not shimmed.

Alcove Units with Integrated Desk

Shelving, cupboard storage, and a full-width desk running between two alcoves. The brief required the desk surface to align precisely with the windowsill on the opposite wall. It does.

Full-height cabinets either side of a central media recess. Off-square walls, ceiling drop of 18mm across the span. Every door gap equal. The ceiling gap consistent. Neither required a filler strip.

How it works

Talk to Matt

20 minutes. The call is not a sales pitch — it's a conversation to work out what's right for the space and the budget. If the project isn't a good fit — wrong timeline, wrong budget, wrong scope — Matt will say so before anyone leaves the house.

Site visit

We look at the space properly. Every measurement taken in person, every constraint noted — what the walls and ceiling are actually doing, what's structurally possible. Nothing assumed.

Design and quote walkthrough

You receive a detailed Loom video walking through every design decision — door configuration, dimensions, materials, finish. No ambiguity about what you're buying before you commit.

Manufacture

Built in the Biggleswade workshop to exact specification. Not from a catalogue. Not adapted from a standard size. Made to the measurements taken on site. You'll have a confirmed installation date before manufacture starts, and we'll be in touch when it's done.

Installation

Done right, first time. No snagging list. If something isn't right on the day, it gets resolved before we leave — not chased afterwards.

Who you're talking to

Matt Moore has been making fitted furniture for 22 years. He works alone — one job at a time, from first measurement to final installation, with a specialist for finishing and no other handoffs. The person on the call is the person who measures your space, builds the furniture, and fits it. There is no one else. The call goes both ways — Matt is working out whether the project is the right fit as much as you are. He has talked customers out of jobs, and into doing things in two stages, when that was the honest answer for the space or the budget. He'll do it again if it needs saying. The one-man model isn't a limitation. It's why the standard is what it is.
